Having a laser that can draw pictures and engrave items is a lot of fun. However, you soon realize that, as delivered, it is easy to print a beautiful picture, but difficult to get it aligned in the exact desired location. Today I solved this problem for under $10 and I wanted to share the solution.

The design is simple. I found two line lasers on Amazon and powered them with a couple of double AAs. I used a project box for the double AAs and a small breadboard with a mechanical switch. The line lasers sit on opposting 45 degress angles projecting across the bottom, so the intersection point is ALWAYS where the laser will hit. 🎯

The Two Trees Laser Engraver is pretty amazing, but the manual targeting isn’t much fun. If you’re going to target a laser, the answer is more lasers, clearly. 🚀
